Classical singer Katherine Jenkins and pop rock band McFly have been confirmed as headline acts for Music on the Hill Festival.

Katherine Jenkins has been confirmed as the headline act for Music On The Hill and the organisers are honoured that Katherine has agreed to perform on 24 June 2011. After signing the biggest ever classical deal in 2003 she has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame and the now, still aged just 30, Katherine has become the premiere ambassador of bringing classical music to a mainstream audience.
In a statement, Katherine said “I’m delighted to be headlining the very first Music On The Hill event in aid of Demelza and the Children’s Development Trust. I’ve performed at a number of different venues over the years but it is always very special to be singing in this type of informal setting, where I can really interact with the audience. I hope people will come along with their friends and family, bring a picnic and enjoy a whole host of classical music, hopefully in the Kent sunshine!”

McFly are the second headline act who will perform on Saturday 25 June at Music On The Hill. The Brit-award winning band will perform after their sell-out UK arena tour and the organisers are thrilled that they are joining the line-up.
