Bjorn Again

Björn Again is an Australian ABBA tribute group from Melbourne, founded in 1988 by Australian director and musician Rod Stephen. It presents a rocked-up, light-hearted satirical spoof of ABBA and becomes widely known for helping drive the ABBA revival that leads to projects such as ABBA Gold, Muriel’s Wedding and Mamma Mia!

Performance history

The group builds a large live reputation through touring and repeated stage work, with nearly 5,000 performances in 70 countries. It remains active and continues to perform ABBA repertoire in the Björn Again style.

Recognition and associations

The act receives public praise from ABBA members and other well-known figures. Agnetha Fältskog comments on its choreography and appearance, Benny Andersson notes that it has been running longer than ABBA did, Björn Ulvaeus remarks on the name, Kylie Minogue thanks the group for a show, and J.K. Rowling describes seeing it at a charity ball.
