Goldie is taking over an entire room at Saatchi Gallery, London for Beyond the Streets II, a six-month street culture exhibition running from 11 November 2026 to 5 May 2027. The drum ’n’ bass pioneer will build an immersive Metalheadz record shop and screen 30 years of his films and videos on stacks of vintage TVs. Tickets are on sale now.
What is Goldie doing at Beyond the Streets II?
This is the second time Beyond the Streets has landed at the King’s Road gallery, and this time Goldie gets a room to himself for the whole six-month run. The centrepiece is an immersive recreation of a Metalheadz record shop, a homage to the label whose legacy helped carry jungle and drum ’n’ bass from the underground into the mainstream.
Around it, 30 years of Goldie’s short films and music videos will play on 30 stacks of vintage TVs, a career-spanning archive you could happily lose an afternoon to.
Goldie said: “Within any major city there is an interior of graffiti writers, overground and underground. It’s all one unbelievable continuous storyline and phenomenon. As much as the governments try to erase us, BEYOND THE STREETS proves there is enough interest in and documentation of this culture to allow us to rise up.”

From Wolverhampton walls to Metalheadz
Before Terminator and Timeless, there was the spray can. Raised in Wolverhampton and put up for adoption at the age of three, Goldie found his creative voice as a teenager through breakdancing and graffiti. His pieces across Birmingham and Wolverhampton featured heavily in the 1987 Channel 4 documentary Bombin’, and in 1988 he moved to the US, painting in New York and Miami and selling grills on the side.
Back in the UK, his 1992 jungle single Terminator pioneered time-stretching in the genre, and 1995’s Timeless produced Inner City Life, a track Rolling Stone and Billboard still rank among the greatest dance songs ever made. Three decades of collaborations followed, from David Bowie to Skepta. The road from care homes to British icon started with graffiti, which is exactly why this room matters.
Who else is in Beyond the Streets II?
Goldie’s takeover sits inside a much bigger show. Also featured:
- Pauline Black, frontwoman of 2Tone legends The Selecter
- The archive of The Big Issue magazine
- Normski’s photographs of Soul II Soul and Public Enemy, and Janette Beckman’s photographs of The Specials
- Shepard Fairey, the US street artist whose HOPE portrait defined Obama’s 2008 campaign
- Pussy Riot founder Nadya Tolokonnikova
- Neil Kenlock, official photographer of the British Black Panthers
- KAWS, Guerrilla Girls and Jenny Holzer
- Graffiti pioneers FUTURA 2000, Zephyr and Lady Pink
- GG the Illustrator, the London artist on a mission to illustrate every council estate in the capital
