Haim, the Kills, James Bay & Yung Lean For Way out West Festival

Gothenburg's leading music festival Way Out West reveals Haim, The Kills, James Bay, Yung Lean, G-Eazy, The Tallest Man On Earth, Chelsea Wolfe and more to join the line-up for 2016.

Family act Haim who were awarded NME’s best international act back in 2014 have been going from strength to strength in recent times, known for blending classic soft rock and new shiny r’n’b sounds with a wild beat. Indie rock band The Kills who are loved for their energetic attitude survives any rock and roll test to date, their fifth studio album ‘Ash & Ice Drops’ hits records stores in June. See both bands rock Way Out West 2016 this August.

The award-winning Way Out West spans rock, electronic and hip-hop and further cement their eclectic tastes with the addition of Swedish singer-songwriter The Tallest Man On Earth, multi-instrumentalistDaniel Norgren, genre defying Chelsea Wolfe along with American rapper G-Eazy to the 2016 line-up.

Stay Out West will be back again, giving party goers further access to some of the best artists on offer. As a series official after parties, Stay Out West gives revellers the chance to keep the party going long into the night in unusual venues across the city. Dua Lipa and Little Jinder join the previously announced Lady Leshurr, Section Boyz, Thundercat and Cherri with plenty more to be announced.

The Way Out West Music Conference enters its third year, with key influencers on board to discuss the future of its industry and its current position. Along with the musical offering will be the festival's inspiring Film Festival, which features the most innovative producers, directors and premiers from around the world.

Way Out West Festival has a strong focus on being environmentally friendly and was the first festival in Sweden to become KRAV-certified. Citing environmental reasons, the festival announced on the evening before the first day of the 2012 festival that all food served to artists, staff and visitors during the festival would be vegetarian. This year the festival will also turn its taps off to milk offering oat substitutes as a welcome alternative taking pioneering steps to help save our planet.

Previous artists that have been announced are Anna Von Hausswolff, Chvrches, Daughter, Jack Garratt, Jamie xx, Jason Isbell, Julia Holter, M83, Massive Attack & Young Fathers, PJ Harvey, Seinabo Sey, Sia, Skepta, Stormzy, The Last Shadow Puppets, Travi$ Scott with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

 

Way Out West will be returning to its home in Slottskogen Park from 11th - 13th of August for one of Europe's biggest celebrations of music. Tickets are now on sale for 2016, with weekend tickets costing around £168 as well as a number of reduced price tickets on sale every month, incrementally increasing by £10 each month.
