SAFE AS MILK's line-up explodes with 12 new acts announced!

Festival Crowd Header

YES! Just when you were wondering how the SAFE AS MILK line-up could possibly get any better, it did exactly that!

Today we're adding 12 more killer acts to an already jaw-dropping line-up, guaranteeing that SAFE AS MILK is the most exciting festival programme you'll see in the UK in 2017. And not just that, we take the much-loved holiday camp festival format and finally make it what it should be - in addition to our face-melting line-up, we'll have an amazing marketplace with great food, our own specially brewed beers, a fantastic array of merch and label pop-ups, bespoke poster printing, live lathe pressing and much more. Plus films, exhibitions, workshops, go-kart tournaments, and the swimming pool, snooker hall and all other amenities fully open.

So, let's feast our ears on the devastating dozen acts we just added. ACTRESS, the UK producer of several recent modern classics and this island's finest purveyor of smoked-out, bass heavy electronics. Norway's peerless ULVER, the quietly huge band (half a million records sold) that emerged from black metal to evolve into something uniquely divine and that won over high profile admirers like Harmony Korine and Julian Cope. The frankly legendary MICHAEL ROTHER, appearing with his band to perform classics from his career at the helm of Neu! and Harmonia. GAIKA, the incredible UK producer weaving enthralling storytelling over dancehall, hiphop, grime and monster low-end. ANNA MEREDITH, who mixes skewed electronics with angular string sections and occasional Pixies-esque choruses. The classic sound of California's CHROME, raging acid space punk with a dose of Cabaret Voltaire-style electro that spawned classic albums like Half Machine Lip Moves. One half of the sublime Basic Channel and Rhythm&Sound merges with an amazing group of Senegalese musicians to bring us the irresistible MARK ERNESTUS' NDAGGA RHYTHM FORCE. Afro-Nuyorican rapper currently setting stages alight on both sides of the Atlantic, PRINCESS NOKIA. Euro festival favourite, the house-drenched Ghanaian highlife of ATA KAK and band. Cult Finnish alt-rock journeymen CIRCLE, veering at will from Steve Reich-esque phase-rock to riffs Judas Priest would die for. CARLA DAL FORNO, the Australian whose debut album for Blackest Ever Black has echoes of Nico, Joy Division and dystopian dub. And MOOR MOTHER, the Afro-futurist poet and producer who is perhaps best described as sounding like Matana Roberts fronting Death Grips.
