About We Are Wirral
We Are Wirral began in 2025, with Birkenhead Park marking its first edition. The 2027 event runs on 17–18 July at Birkenhead Park, Birkenhead, as a two-day daytime music festival built for families.
The format is park-based and daytime only. Live music sits alongside circus activity, games and food and drink areas, with the site set up for an all-ages crowd.
Lineup and Programme
The bill moves from pop and indie-alternative into acoustic singer-songwriter sets, DJs and hip-hop. The Main Stage anchors the outdoor arena; the CamperVan Live Lounge is the acoustic stage.
Beyond the stages, the programme includes workshops, sports and slacklining. There are also family circus activities, storytelling, shadow puppetry, fairground rides and an arcade-style game zone.
Who Is It For?
We Are Wirral is set up for families and all ages rather than a late-night camping crowd. Under-18s must be with a parent or guardian, while teens aged 13–17 must be accompanied by an adult aged 30 or over and proof of identity is required.
Food, drink, fairground areas and hands-on activities make up a large part of the site. It is a day-visitor-only event, with no camping.
The Venue and Site
Birkenhead Park is the setting, with the festival entrance on Ashville Road. The site includes on-site bars, street food vendors, a shopping bubble, stalls, a family circus area and a fairground.
An accessible viewing platform is in place at the main stage. Vehicle gates at Birkenhead Park are generally closed, and limited event parking must be booked in advance.
