Stompin' on the Quomps 2012 is an al fresco (out door) Smooth Jazz Festival with bands performing on the Edwardian bandstand in the picturesque surroundings of Christchurch Quay. It's one of Christchurch's largest and most loved events, appealing to young children and nonagenarians alike.

Two new acts will replace the BeauBowBelles and Lemongrove for a programme of five professional acts each performing full sets.

Kicking off the event at noon will be Jivoholics an in-demand Jump Jive and Party band from Wales. This six-piece band guarantees a show of non-stop dancing and a party atmosphere wherever they go. Jivoholics will be joined by by Ceroc Live – a jive dance group.
 
Stompin’ favourites, Not Just Sax will now perform at 2pm and will be followed at 4pm by Blues Commotion with Zoe Schwartz.
 
At 6pm is Sue Richardson Trumpet playing, singer songwriter Sue joins Stompin’ for the first time with her Too Cool tribute to Chet Baker. Since being tipped for the top by Jazzwise magazine, Sue’s career has been going from strength to strength. With her latest CD, Fanfare, she has firmly cemented her position in the jazz world.
 
8pm will see the final act of the day, the ever popular Taverners Big Band. During the change over entertainment will be provided by The Swish of the Curtain Theatre group and The Funky Little Choir.
