About Outer Town Festival

Launched in 2022, Outer Town Festival 2027 is scheduled for Saturday 10 April 2027 in Bristol, with a punk, indie and DIY music bill.

The scale is compact but spread out: over 60 handpicked acts across 10 stages in Old Market, with Trinity Centre as the festival hub and wristband exchange.

The first edition ran along Old Market Street with over 30 artists across six stages and five venues. By 2023 Bristol247 reported capacity had grown from 600 to 900, and the official site said the 2026 edition sold out for the fifth year in a row.

Lineup and Programme

The bill leans into punk, indie, post-punk, underground and experimental music. Across Old Market, named stages include Trinity Centre, Exchange, Old Market Assembly and Stag & Hounds.

Other festival venues listed by organisers include Ill Repute, Elmers Arms, To The Moon and Wiper & True Taproom, with a DIY Market at Trinity Centre.

Wristband holders collect at Trinity Centre before moving between venues. The programme also includes the DIY market, vegan food traders and a late after-party where programmed.

Who Is It For?

Outer Town’s audience comes from alternative-music fans around Bristol’s punk, queer and indie scenes. It is largely a grassroots, DIY-minded day-festival crowd.

Entry is 14+, and under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Some venues carry later age limits, with Old Market Assembly and the after-party listed as 18+.

The Venue and Site

Old Market gives the festival its shape. The site is a chain of independent venues, centred on Trinity Centre rather than a single outdoor arena.

Trinity Centre handles wristband exchange at the box office and also has the DIY market. The market includes local creatives and vegan food traders.

Accessibility information lists wheelchair access for Exchange, Trinity, Old Market Assembly, Wiper & True Taproom and Ill Repute, with accessible toilets at several venues including Exchange and Old Market Assembly.

Trinity Centre is the Old Market anchor point for wristband exchange, with the wider site spread across nearby venues.

• Rail: Bristol Temple Meads is about a 20-minute walk from Trinity Centre. Stapleton Road is listed as the nearest National Rail station to Trinity Centre.
• Road: Access routes listed for Trinity include M32 Junction 19, Newfoundland Way, the A4032, Lawfords Gate on the A420, Trinity Road and the Temple Way or Old Market roundabout.
• Parking: Trinity Centre has a 24-hour Pay & Display car park with 75 spaces, including accessible bays.
• Regional access: Bath is 12 miles east of Bristol, Gloucester is approximately 32 miles north-east, and Cardiff and Bristol are 69 km apart.
