About The Mighty Hoop-La

At Brockwell Park, Brixton, The Mighty Hoop-La 2027 runs as an over-18s pop and queer-culture music festival on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 June.

The event was created by Sink The Pink and Guilty Pleasures in 2016 at a Butlin’s Weekender in Bognor Regis. The format moved fast. Its first full festival took place at Victoria Park in 2017 with 10,000 attendees, before the move to Brockwell Park in 2018 and the expansion to two days in 2022.

Planning documents for Brockwell Live use a 29,999 capacity figure for toilet planning at the site.

Lineup and Programme

Three stages frame it. The named main stages are Main Stage, House of Love and Pleasure Palace.

The programme covers live pop performances and drag, with guest speakers from key organisations on the main stage. Food outlets and bars operate on site.

The festival says its lineups have had a female-and-non-binary majority every year. Its 2025 Brockwell Park show had 100% female stage headliners across its three main stages.

Who Is It For?

It is adults only. Entry is for over-18s, with no under-18s or babies allowed, valid photo ID may be required, and Challenge 25 applies at bars.

The audience is centred on LGBTQ+ communities, allies and a pop/queer-culture crowd. The festival places inclusivity at the centre of its identity and also runs Pink Noise, a community-led fund for vulnerable members of the LGBTQ+ community.
