Cambridge Folk Festival 2027 is a folk music festival at Cherry Hinton Hall Park, Cherry Hinton Rd, Cambridge CB1 8DW.

1965 marks the festival’s first edition, and it has remained an independent festival since its conception. Cambridge City Council organises the event.

2026 brought a relaunched city-wide, multi-venue format, culminating at Cherry Hinton Hall. The official site says the next festival dates run throughout July and finish with the Cherry Hinton Hall event on 1 August 2027.

Lineup and Programme

Two music stages form the current published Cherry Hinton Hall format: the Main Stage and Second Stage. The site also includes a Street Performance Area and Club Corner.

The programme spans folk, roots, Americana, country, blues, and world music. Published activity includes live concerts on the main stages and at city venues, workshops, street theatre, Morris dancing, buskers, roving acts, camping, and food-and-drink areas.

Who Is It For?

Children aged 0-13 are admitted free, provided they have a ticket. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult on arrival.

The audience includes families, repeat attendees, and national and international visitors with an interest in folk and roots music. The programme is built around live music, workshops, street performance, and city-wide events.

The Venue and Site

Cherry Hinton Hall Park is the main festival site, with Cambridge Junction on Clifton Way used for some city-wide festival events.

Current published planning material describes the Cherry Hinton Hall event as attracting up to 4,500 people per day across two days. Facilities include accessible viewing areas at the two main stages, food vans, space to sit and eat and drink, and a fully accessible Changing Places facility in the permanent toilet block.

On-site camping is part of the Cherry Hinton Hall format, but 2027 campsite and camping-ticket details have not yet been published.

Travel Information

Cambridge Railway Station is the nearest named station in the verified festival information, with regular buses running every 10 minutes to Cherry Hinton Hall. The walk from the station to the main site is about 35-45 minutes.
