Xander and The Peace Pirates

Xander and The Peace Pirates are a Liverpool blues-rock band centred on guitarist and singer Keith “The One-Armed Wonder” Xander. The line-up includes his brother Stuart, bass guitarist and vocalist John Bird, and drummer Jake Woodward. Their music combines guitar-led blues rock with soul influences, and draws on Hendrix, John Mayer, Jeff Beck, Lenny Kravitz and Prince, with touches of Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.

Performance and reputation

The band is associated with energetic live shows and is resident band at the Cavern Pub in Liverpool. They have played with Buddy Guy, Eric Bibb, Richie Kotzen, San Brown, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and The James Taylor Quartet.

Media and other appearances

Xander and The Peace Pirates appear in the documentary Original Twang, a film about the history of Leo Fender’s Telecaster guitar. The documentary includes Keith Richards, Steve “The Colonel” Cropper, Jeff Beck and Albert Lee, and is released in 2010.
