Vadoinmessico

Vadoinmessico is a five-piece international group based in London, United Kingdom, active since 2006. The band forms in London and includes Giorgio Poti from Italy, Salvador Garza from Mexico, Stefan Miksch from Austria, Alessandro Marrosu from Italy and Joe White from the UK. Its line-up and background shape a sound that draws on multiple traditions and is often described as freak folk, although the group’s music does not fit neatly into a single genre.

Notable recognition and releases

Vadoinmessico receives early support from NPR’s Bob Boilen during SXSW 2010. It also records live at BBC Maida Vale Studios for Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1, and is named “prime ambassadors” at Eurosonic 2012 by Dutch national radio 3Voor12. Its first full-length album, Archaeology Of The Future, is released through PIAS/Outcaste and draws critical acclaim.
