Two Door Cinema Club
Two Door Cinema Club are an indie and electronic band from Bangor and Donaghadee, Northern Ireland, formed in 2007. The group consists of Alex Trimble on vocals and guitar, Kevin Baird on bass and vocals, and Sam Halliday on guitar and vocals. Benjamin Thompson plays drums live, and Jacob Berry plays keyboard and vocals live.
Releases
The band releases four albums: Tourist History in 2010, Beacon in 2012, Gameshow in 2016, False Alarm in 2019, and Keep On Smiling in 2022. Their early releases on Kitsuné include the singles “Something Good Can Work” in 2009, “I Can Talk” and “I Can Talk Remixes” later that year, and “Undercover Martyn” in 2010.
After Tourist History, they release the EPs Something Good Can Work (Remixes) on Cooperative in 2010 and Come Back Home on Kitsuné later that year. They then issue the single “What You Know” in 2011. Beacon appears as their second album and is led by the single “Sleep Alone”, which arrives in 2012 on Glassnote.
Name and recognition
The band’s name comes from Sam Halliday’s mispronunciation of the local cinema name, Tudor Cinema. In December 2009, they feature in the BBC Sound Of 2010 poll.
