Steve Turner

Steve Turner is an American guitarist and songwriter from Houston, United States, born in 1965. He is best known for his work with the grunge band Mudhoney and is also a member of Green River. He plays in a number of other bands and projects, including Mr. Epp & the Calculations, The Monkeywrench, The Thrown Ups, The Phantom Ships, Bush Pig, H2F, Limp Richerds, Love & Respect, Dan Peters Combo, The Fall-Outs, The Fresh Mud Choir, The New Original Sonic Sound, The Sad And Lonely(s), and Steve Turner and His Bad Ideas.

Career

Turner co-founds Mudhoney in 1988 and becomes widely associated with the Seattle grunge scene. Before that, he plays in Green River, The Fall-Outs and The Thrown Ups. His work is rooted in grunge and rock, and he is also active as a vocalist in his solo work.

Solo work

As a solo artist, Turner releases a series of albums on First Time in Paperback. His first solo album is Searching for Melody (2002). His solo material is mostly acoustic and influenced by 1960s folk rock, while New Wave Punk Asshole (2006) is more punk and garage-oriented.
