POPES OF CHILLITOWN are a six piece Dub/Punk/Ska band from London, who have smashed into the UK scene in the past few years with two extremely well received EPs, banging live sets, headline tours, support slots with bands like The Skints, Imperial Leisure, [Spunge], The King Blues, Mouthwash and many more. The band recently started touring Europe and play UK festivals this summer.
Their debut 4 track EP ‘BUY ONE GET ONE FREE’, (7/10 Rock Sound, 4/5 Big Cheese) was released in December 2008 through their own label Evil Uncle Records and in 2010 they released a self titled tour EP to accompany their co-headline tour of the UK with True Beat, where the band took their unique brand of Dub, Punk and Ska all over the country. Influences include The Specials, The Clash, Tryo, Capdown and Sublime.
The band are currently recording tracks for their debut album, expected early 2012 and plays shows up and down the UK constantly.
