Nordic Giants

Nordic Giants are a UK instrumental rock and post-rock group active since 2010. The duo consists of Daisy Borthwick and George Laycock.

Style and live presentation

The group performs as a masked, theatrical act, with feathered masks, animal skins, body paint and costumes forming part of its live presentation. It changes between multiple instruments and stages performances as live soundtracks to short films, many of which deal with dark or sombre themes. Its music combines ambient swells, large instrumental builds and heavy climaxes.

Nordic Giants are based in Brighton and draw influence from artists including Massive Attack and the Cinematic Orchestra. Early in its career, the duo shares stages with Lamb, Ratatat and Mogwai. It also headlines the world premiere of The Blot Symphony, a visual art piece created by Ralph Steadman.
