Nina Nesbitt

Nina Nesbitt is a Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist from Edinburgh, Scotland. Born in 1994, she starts her music career by writing and recording songs at home and uploading videos to her YouTube channel. She plays guitar, piano and flute, and she also works as a teenage model before meeting Ed Sheeran. Her father is Scottish and her mother is Swedish. She attends the small village school in Bellsquarry, Livingston, and later goes to Balerno Community High School. As a child, she competes in local and regional gymnastics events with her primary school.

Recordings and chart success

Her debut single, Boy, comes from her first EP and reaches number 139 on the UK Singles Chart. She gains wider attention in 2013 with Stay Out, which peaks at number 21 on the UK Singles Chart and becomes her first UK Top 40 single. Her second EP, The Apple Tree, is released in 2012 and reaches number six on the iTunes download chart, while also topping the iTunes singer-songwriter chart after receiving airplay on BBC Radio 1.

She also releases the Way Of The World EP and its title single in 2013, following Stay Out; this track joins BBC Radio 1’s A playlist. In August 2013, she records a version of Fleetwood Mac’s Don’t Stop for a John Lewis advertising campaign, and that recording reaches number 61 on the UK Singles Chart. She also appears on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge with a cover of John Newman’s Love Me Again. Her single Selfies is released in 2014 and is set to appear on her debut album Peroxide.
