ME and DEBOE

ME and DEBOE are a two-part acoustic act made up of Mercy Elise and Sarah Deboe, both singer-songwriters. Elise grows up in West Yorkshire, where she learns classical guitar and tours with a guitar ensemble before moving to Cheshire to study and continue her solo work. Deboe is originally from Liverpool and has a background shaped by an interest in 1960s rock and roll, with a guitar style and approach to songwriting that are described as distinctive and well developed.

Background

Before forming the duo, Deboe wins a Liverpool Battle of the Bands competition as a solo performer. The pair meet in Cheshire and begin working together as ME and DEBOE. Their set-up centres on two acoustic guitars and two voices.

Style

Their music is described as uplifting, soulful, gutsy, intricate, percussive and raw. They present themselves as an acoustic act with an energetic live performance and use the phrase “Acoustic with BITE” to describe their sound.
