InMe

InMe are an alternative rock group from Brentwood, United Kingdom, active since 2001. The band consists of Greg McPherson, Joe Morgan, Dave McPherson and Simon Taylor.

Career

InMe build their sound around alternative rock, with tags also linking them to rock, alternative, metal and emo. They are based in Brentwood, Essex, and develop from their 2003 debut album Overgrown Eden into a band with a changing style across later releases. Their early years bring them into the spotlight as teenagers, and their later catalogue shows a clear progression as musicians.

The band releases five studio albums, a best-of collection and two DVDs, and they score a number of Top 40 UK singles. Their studio albums include Overgrown Eden (2003), White Butterfly (2005), Daydream Anonymous (2007), Herald Moth (2009), The Pride (2012), Trilogy: Dawn (2015) and Jumpstart (2019). Phoenix – The Best of InMe appears in 2010 and includes exclusive tracks that reflect their development up to that point.

Live work and releases

InMe tour extensively in the UK, Europe and further afield, and play with acts including Nickelback, Limp Bizkit, Pendulum, Deftones, Serj Tankian, Staind, Feeder, Biffy Clyro and The Rasmus. They also appear on main stages and in packed tents at festivals including Reading, Sonisphere, Download and Summer Breeze.

The band uses Pledge Music for The Pride, releasing the album through a fan-funded approach after Dave McPherson uses the same route for his solo album. Jumpstart reaches number 10 on the UK Rock Albums chart. InMe later begin work on a seventh studio album, Demons.

Line-up notes

Simon Taylor leaves the band in October 2017, and Jumpstart is the final album to feature him. The group’s later work includes the planned but unreleased Trilogy: Sentience and Trilogy: Quietus, which are abandoned when the band chooses to focus on Jumpstart instead.
