Free Throw is a Nashville emo group formed in 2012. The band is active from 2012 to the present and is associated with emo, midwest emo and pop punk.

Line-up and label

The group currently consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Cory Castro, guitarists Lawrence Warner and Jake Hughes, drummer Zach Hall and bassist Justin Castro. It is signed to Triple Crown Records.

Releases

Free Throw releases three full-length albums: Those Days Are Gone, Bear Your Mind and What’s Past is Prologue. It also releases three EPs: Free Throw, Lavender Town and Missing Pieces.

Songwriting and touring

The band’s lyrics often deal with alcoholism, addiction, relationship problems and body image. After its debut album, Free Throw tours opening for Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate). What’s Past is Prologue, released in 2019, places a stronger emphasis on pop punk elements.
