Dirty Harry is the performance name of Victoria Harrison, a London-born rock vocalist and guitarist. She is also known as The Amazonica, and she later works as a DJ under that name.

Background

Harrison is born in 1982 and grows up between London, Singapore, New York and the UK. She is raised in a strict conservative family, with a vicar as a grandfather and a mother who runs a local Sunday school. She turns away from that background at a young age and cites Madonna as well as Patti Smith and Janis Joplin as important influences.

By her early teens she is involved in London nightlife and the club scene, and she becomes associated in particular with Torture Garden and Slimelight. The name “Dirty” comes from that period and from her reputation on the underground music scene before she begins recording as an artist in her own right.
