Camo & Krooked

Camo & Krooked are an Austrian drum and bass and electronic duo from Wien, formed in 2007. The group consists of Reinhard Rietsch and Markus Wagner, who work under the names Camo and Krooked. They are active on labels including MODUS, MOSAIK MUSIK, Hospital Records and RAM Records.

Background and style

The duo builds its sound around drum and bass, while also drawing on electronic music and a wider range of club styles. Their releases move between soulful, vocal-led tracks and harder, more aggressive material, and their work also includes elements of dubstep, drumstep, electro-house, French house, disco and minimal techno.

Releases and recognition

Camo & Krooked begin working together in 2007 and sign exclusively to Hospital Records in 2010. Their first album for the label, Cross The Line, appears in 2011 as a fourteen-track release. It includes tracks such as “Turn Up The Music” and “Climax” and leads to three Drum & Bass Arena Awards in 2011 for Best Producer, Best Video and Best Album.

In 2012 they release the remix album Between The Lines, which features remixes of material from Cross The Line by producers including Metrik, Mefjus, Subwave and BCee. They also release the LP All Night, followed by Move Around and Zeitgeist.

Live work

The duo also develops a live show that uses an LED-lit cage, iPads and MIDI controllers to reshape their tracks and trigger visuals, with vocalists from their albums involved in the performance. They tour this live show through 2011.
