U2 Confirmed for Friday at Glastonbury Festival

U2 are the latest announcement on this years line up at Glastonbury Festival to headline the Pyramid stage on Friday

Glastonbury Festival have announced there third headline act to join Coldplay and Beyonce on the line up for Glastonbury 2011. U2 will close the Friday night on the Pyramid stage at this years festival.

The Irish rock band had to re schedule last years event due to Bono injuring his back but news of this years announcement was announced at the NME Awards in London. Guitarist The Edge was congratulating owners of Glastonbury Michael and Emily Eavis on winning the Best Festival Award when Michael Eavis said “After the disappointment of U2 being unable to play last year, we’re now doubly excited at the prospect of the Friday night supergroup breaking the sound barrier.” 

Glastonbury Festival is undoubtably the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world. Each area of the festival has its own character, with different themes and attractions, maybe you will live in the Dance Village or maybe you will enjoy whats on offer in The Green Fields. Whatever your fancy Glastonbury has it all!
