SO Festival 2025 Highlights

SO Festival 2025 has once again proven to be a resounding success, captivating audiences across East Lindsey and further afield with a vibrant celebration of outdoor arts, international collaboration, and community creativity.

The Festival Programme

This year's festival featured a four-day programme of performances, the three-day SEAScape Conference, and a week-long series of community activities in Skegness and Mablethorpe. Artists from six countries and local talent showcased acrobatics, comedy, puppetry, and dance.

Standout Performance

A highlight of the festival was the enigmatic MDR - Death From Laughter, a darkly comic physical theatre piece that mesmerized audiences on Thursday and Friday nights.

Community Engagement

The festival introduced a dedicated community programme with workshops on Special Effects Make-Up, Introduction to AI, Parkour, and more. The Street Art Workshop resulted in a large-scale mural displayed at the Sherwood Community and Youth Hut.

Impact on East Lindsey Communities

James Brindle, Chief Executive at Magna Vitae, emphasized the festival's role in bringing communities together and providing hope in challenging times. The festival's diverse offerings reflected resilience, imagination, and connection in the region.

Future of SO Festival

SO Festival 2026 is scheduled to take place from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June, promising another exciting lineup of international performances and community activities.
