Leftfield Announced for Groove Loch Ness

Festival Crowd Header

LEFTFIELD – one of electronic music’s greatest acts have been announced as the very special guest for Groove Loch Ness 2016.

Now led soley by founding member Neil Barnes, Leftfield will be playing a DJ set at the festival which already boasts an eclectic international line-up including DUKE DUMONT, BOYS NOIZE and MARK KNIGHT.

Leftfield delighted fans by releasing new music last year in the form of their third studio album ‘The Alternative Light Source’. The follow up to their previous mercury nominated albums Leftism (1995) and Rhythm and Stealth (1999) had an unmistakeably Leftfield sound updated for the 21st century with a contemporary twist that won them many new followers.

The new album was called ‘a masterpiece of texture’ by the Guardian and Leftism remains one of the defining statements of 90’s dance music, a gloriously inter-woven bombardment of musical styles and immaculate grooves, nominated for a mercury prize and later voted in the top ten greatest albums of all time by readers of Q magazine.

Festival founder Dougie Brown said ‘We are delighted to announce Leftfield as our special guests, there is no arguing the impact they have had on the electronic music world and their set is guaranteed to be a highlight of the festival’

Also added to the bill are DJ & Producer CLYDE ROUGE who has earned the attention of dance label Toolroom records after mass online support for his music, VAN D who is resident at Reading Room’s club night All Good in Dundee and Aberdeen based RONDEVU whose sets are renowned for heavy bass along with uplifting melodies.
