Artists for Gaza returns to Scala in King's Cross, London on Sunday 27 September 2026, with Paul Weller, four members of Madness and Roxy Music's Andy Mackay playing live, plus DJ sets from Paul Simonon, Jerry Dammers and Bobby Gillespie. The 800-capacity fundraiser runs 16:00–01:00 in aid of Health Workers 4 Palestine.

Who's playing Artists for Gaza 2026?

The live bill is a proper roll-call of British music's awkward squad. Paul Weller performs, as do four members of Madness — Suggs, Barso, Bedders and Thomo. Also playing live: Dexys Midnight Runners' Kevin Rowland, producer Clive Langer, Lisa Moorish and Roxy Music saxophonist Andy Mackay.

Behind the decks you'll find The Clash's Paul Simonon, The Specials founder Jerry Dammers, Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie and Princess Julia. Organisers describe these as "just some" of the names involved, so treat the bill as a work in progress.

Rowland was blunt about why he signed up: "I want to play Artists for Gaza because it's my duty as a human being to do whatever I possibly can. Innocent people are being slaughtered and our government don't care."

Where does the money go?

Funds go to Health Workers 4 Palestine, a network of doctors from more than 70 cities worldwide. Organisers say the first three Artists for Gaza events raised over £80,000, and that money from the Scala show goes into the HW4P Solidarity Fund to pay for mobile clinics, maternity ward rebuilds and stipends for Palestinian health workers.

HW4P founder Dr Omar Abdel-Mannan said the world's attention may have drifted, but conditions in Gaza have not improved — arguing that music and solidarity cannot stop the bombing but can keep a lifeline open.

Gillespie, meanwhile, framed his involvement in starker political terms, calling Palestine the human rights issue of our time and accusing the UK government of complicity. Those are his words, not ours — but they set the tone of the night.

Who is behind Artists for Gaza?

The event was created by Chris Sullivan — visual artist, writer, DJ and the promoter behind the legendary Wag Club, the 80s Soho haunt of David Bowie, Leigh Bowery, Neneh Cherry and John Galliano, and the first London club to book live hip-hop from De La Soul, Eric B & Rakim, Queen Latifah and Grandmaster Flash.

Sullivan founded Artists for Gaza with Maria Larrain and his son Finbar Sullivan, who filmed every event and, organisers say, was profoundly moved by the suffering of children in Gaza. Finbar Sullivan was killed in London in April 2026.
