Foo Fighters Headline NME awards Big Gig 2011

Following the announcement of Dave Grohl receiving the NME Godlike Genius award, NME have announced that the Foo Fighters will headline the NME awards Big Gig at Wembley arena on Friday 25Th February

With the Foo Fighters seventh album recently completed thousands of Foo Fighters fans will get the chance to see them perform at what will be there first arena gig of 2011. As well as the classics, fans will be treated to unheard material from the new album.  

Joining the Foo Fighters will be Cee Lo Green, Band of Horses and No Age who will be opening the show. Cee Lo Green is said to be the greatest voice in American music today, after setting the internet alight with his controversial hit 'F*** You', and his critically lauded album 'Lady Killer'. 

The Shockwaves NME awards shows will take over the London nightlife throughout February, headline acts will include Mystery Jets, Carl Barat, Noah and the Whale and more, all set to play in some of London's iconic venues to celebrate this years awards.

The NME Big Gig rounds of the NME Awards season in style, bringing together a unique musical line up in major London venue Wembley Arena for one night only. Since its launch in 2008 artist's including The Cure, Specials, Manic Street Preachers and many more have played the NME Big Gig in venues as diverse as the O2 Arena and the Royal Albert Hall. 

NME awards Big Gig takes place on Wednesday 25Th February at Wembley Arena.
