An annual event started in 2008, Worcester Music Festival takes over venues across the city and raises money for local charities, with most of the shows being free of charge. It’s a three day event which is designed to show off the many fantastic local acts in the area as well as recognised names from around the country.
Worcester Music Festival is now in its eighth year and is running from 18th until 20th September, coinciding with the University of Worcester’s Fresher’s Week. The line-up includes a huge range of different artists: Alfie Jack, The Assist, The Barefoot Bandit, Bella Nics, Ben Stancombe, Benjamin Dallow, Bethan and the Morgans, Flying Ant Day, Freaky Trigger, Fred's House, Go Primitive, Hipflask Virgins, Howard Sinclair, The Humdrum Express, Imaner, The insomniacs, Institutes, Jess Silk, Judas Johnson, Kim Lowings & The Greenwood, Kirky anda turkeys, Leader, Leon Gormley, Linerunners, Little Death Machine, Luke Wylde and the Japes, Marina Del Ray, Masiro, Of Kings And Captains, Pig Daze, The Pink Diamond Revue, The Poor Boys of Worcester, PTR Williams, The Rainbreakers, Raptor, Roving Crows, The Rusty Knives, Sam Draisey, Sam Gwinnell, Speak Brother, Steve Strong, Stompin' on Spiders, The SuperKings, Texas Flood, Those Amongst Us Are Wolves, Tokyo Marching Band, Tom Forbes, Tone Tanner, Triptych, Vienna Ditto and many more.
Since its launch the Worcester Music Festival has raised nearly £35,000 for local charities through donations and raffles.
