About Tiree Music Festival

Created by Tiree locals Daniel Gillespie and Stewart MacLennan, Tiree Music Festival 2027 runs from 9 to 11 July in Crossapol, Isle of Tiree, Scotland as a music festival rooted in traditional Scottish music, folk, pop and indie.

The first event sold out at 600 people in July 2010. The scale stayed tight. Organisers now cap TMF at 2,100, with 13 consecutive sell-outs cited in 2025 planning material.

Lineup and Programme

The bill leans toward traditional Scottish music, folk, pop and indie, with the performance set-up split between The Big Top, Elevate Stage and The Wee Top. The stage count is three.

Beyond the arena, the programme includes family and kids activities, workshops and fringe events, wellness sessions, the Community Village, food and drink, and a silent disco.

Who Is It For?

TMF draws a mixed-age crowd of island residents and visitors, with official pages emphasising families, young people, local makers, culture and wellness. Under-18s need an adult.

All under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult who also holds a valid ticket and is attending TMF. Campsite rules limit one adult to up to three under-18s, and Challenge 25 applies for alcohol purchases.

The Venue and Site

The festival site sits on Crossapol beach on the Isle of Tiree, with the main arena beside the main campsite and Community Village. Its setting gives TMF a clear Hebridean identity.

Camping options listed by the festival include the main campsite, family campsite, chill-out campsite, accessible campsite, campervan site and boutique camping. Facilities include toilets and portable toilets in the campsite and arena, fresh water points, accessible water points, showers using a surcharge or token system, cooking areas for small camping stoves, accessible toilets, accessible camping, bike storage racks and a licensed bar in the main arena. BBQs are not allowed.

Crossapol sits on the Isle of Tiree, with the festival site about 5 miles from the ferry terminal at Scarinish. Oban railway station is listed as the nearest station.

• Parking: two car park fields are provided at the festival site with no charge for parking. Camping is not permitted in the car parks, and the ground may be uneven.
