The Unorthodox Paradox

On 26th / 27th / 28th August 2016, Unorthodox Paradox will be taking itself to another brand new venue – The Hollybush nr. Hay-On-Wye, Brecknockshire. They are very lucky to have secured the bank holiday weekend at this wonderful location, giving you the opportunity to experience three full days of unorthodox mayhem, and still have a full day to recover before returning to ‘normality’ (whatever that is).

The Hollybush is another stunning location, situated right alongside the beautiful River Wye, with camping available throughout the ancient woodland and its surroundings. The historic and picturesque town of Hay-On-Wye is within comfortable walking distance by footpath, and this area of outstanding natural beauty has much to explore and discover.

As always, Unorthodox Paradox will bring you a weekend of diverse and eclectic music and performance, from the calming & pastoral to the wildly psychedelic, and from in-your-face rock to out-there electronica – all of which will be paradoxically enhanced by the gorgeous surroundings and the typically unorthodox production touches that you have come to expect from us.

Resolutely non-corporate, there will be no stalls selling silly hats, no over-priced fast food, no sponsorship from Radio 1, and definitely no cashpoints on site. Our sole interest here at Paradox HQ remains to provide you with a hand-picked selection of unusual and wonderful music in what is surely another of the most beautiful locations you will find in the UK.

The main reason they started Unorthodox Paradox was to give everyone a rare opportunity to REALLY get together with their friends in an intimate and welcoming environment, and in this regard we believe that Unorthodox Paradox 2016 will offer a unique and magickal experience for those prepared to embrace the unknown. Leave the huge and expensive commercial festivals to those that enjoy being herded like cattle, and instead soak up the vibe of a smaller and more personal experience in idyllic surroundings.

Instead of seeing the same old bands, invariably booked for economic reasons by people who are more concerned with business than music, come and experience some mindblowing new artists you may never have heard of before…but who you will most definitely remember!
