About The Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul Festival
The first The Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul Festival took place in 2010. Its 2027 edition runs 9–11 July at Moseley Park and Pool, Birmingham, with a music bill built around jazz, funk and soul. By 2027 it is in its 17th edition.
Around 3,000 people attended the sold-out 2025 festival at Moseley Park. The scale fits the site: an 11-acre woodland glade about 2 miles from Birmingham city centre.
Lineup and Programme
Announced acts include Fat Freddy’s Drop and DJ Shadow. The brief is tight. The three-stage format takes in the Main Stage, Second Stage and Off Piste Stage, with DJ sets and off-piste programming alongside live music.
Picnics are allowed on site, as are folding chairs and blankets. Food stalls and bars operate inside the arena.
Who Is It For?
The crowd is broad and community-minded, centred on jazz-funk-soul listeners rather than a camping weekend. Under-12s can attend free with a paying adult, while U18 tickets cover ages 12–17.
Anyone aged 17 or under must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or over. No more than two children can attend per adult, and children need ID.
The Venue and Site
Moseley Park and Pool sits in Moseley Village, around 2 miles from Birmingham city centre. Sloping ground forms a natural amphitheatre in front of the lake.
There is no camping. Facilities include accessible toilets, an accessible viewing platform and first aid. Payments on site are cashless, and a secure bike lock-up is available.
