2015 marks the 11th annual Mouth of the Tyne Festival, taking place between 8th and 12th July. The festival includes music and performing arts across four key locations in the area: Playhouse Whitley Bay, Tynemouth Front Street, Tynemouth Priory and Castle and Tynemouth Station.

The line up this year includes many recognised names including I Am Kloot, The Specials, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and others at Tynemouth Prioty and Castle and Rufus Wainwright, Lisbon and Jack Savoretti at Playhouse Whitley Bay. The Sunday of the festival weekend is the dedicated ‘family’ day where there are plenty of well-known bands and a free jazz stage to enjoy throughout the day. It also features a children’s pageant and many street performers.
