Ben Ottewell is an English singer-songwriter from Matlock, United Kingdom. He is one of the three lead singers in Gomez, an English band associated with alternative rock, folk, folk rock and indie rock. Born in 1976, he is credited on his own name and is also linked with acoustic and indie work.

As a solo artist, he begins a solo project in 2011 with the debut album Shapes & Shadows. He receives the Mercury Music Award Prize in 1998.
