About Manchester Village Pride

Manchester Village Pride 2027 runs from Friday 27 August to Monday 30 August in Manchester Gay Village, Manchester, M1 3EZ, as a cultural Pride event with club, live and cabaret programming.

The first Manchester Pride event took place in the Village in 1985, funded by a £1,700 council grant to support those dying of HIV/AIDS. The current organisation describes itself as a new start, formed after the previous organiser collapsed in late 2025.

Manchester Village Pride CIC launched the rebuilt event in 2026. It is described as community-owned and run by unpaid volunteers.

Lineup and Programme

The confirmed programme spaces are Main Stage (Bloom Street / Sackville Street), Sackville Gardens: The Community Showcase and The Dance Arena.

The programme covers house and techno alongside disco, acoustic sets, live music, cabaret and drag. Parade and Candlelit Vigil activity sits alongside DJ sets, indoor venue takeovers and street parties.

Who Is It For?

The event is LGBTQ+ community-focused and family-inclusive. Children and families are welcome.

Under-18s must attend with an adult, while children under 2 do not need a ticket or wristband. Some participating venues are strictly 18+, and Challenge 25 applies at wristband exchange points and alcohol service areas.

Monday is a free community and family day.

The Venue and Site

Canal Street anchors the site. The festival runs in and around Manchester’s Gay Village, taking in nearby streets including Bloom Street, Richmond Street, Sackville Street and Sackville Gardens.

Official access points include gates on Portland Street/Sackville Street and Bloom Street/Princess Street, with accessible entrances listed at Sackville Street and Chorlton Street.

Access facilities include viewing platforms, BSL interpreters on main stages, Changing Places, calm space and accessible toilets. The site also lists lowered service points at official bars, a medical centre, welfare centre, Village Angels Hub, chestfeeding space, Access Team support and an accessible shuttle bus for the parade.

Manchester Village Pride sits in central Manchester, around the Gay Village streets off Canal Street.
