You Slut!
You Slut! are a British instrumental math rock group from Derby and Nottingham, formed in 2004 and active from 2004 to the present. The band is a four-piece, and Rich Collins is listed as a member. Their music sits in math rock and experimental instrumental rock, with a focus on riff-led, tempo-shifting arrangements and tightly controlled rhythmic changes.
Style and comparisons
The group begins as a tongue-in-cheek response to their indie roots, then develops a sound that avoids the longer, more spacious conventions often associated with post-rock. You Slut! release a 6-track EP, Grit Eyed & Greasy Tailed, in 2005. This is followed by the 8-track album Critical Meat, which appears in Japan on Xtal Records in 2007 and in the UK on StressedSumo Records in 2008.
Other projects
The four members of You Slut! also play in Amusement Parks on Fire, Mascot Fight and Pilgrim Fathers.
