Willy Vlautin is a singer-songwriter from the United States who fronts the alternative country band Richmond Fontaine. He also works as a novelist and has written The Motel Life and Northline, two books that are later adapted for film.

Spoken word work

His recorded output includes a spoken-word release titled A Jockey’s Christmas, issued in 2008. It centres on an alcoholic gambler who returns home for the holidays in search of some luck. The release also includes two bonus songs about horseracing.
