Wille and the Bandits
Wille and the Bandits are a British blues rock group from the United Kingdom, originally formed in Cornwall in 2010. Their music draws on blues rock while also taking in rock, folk and Latin influences. The current lineup includes Wille Edwards, Matthew Gallagher, Harry Mackaill and Tom Gilkes.
Career and recordings
They have released five studio albums and one live album. The band takes inspiration from artists including Pearl Jam, Ben Harper and Jimi Hendrix. Edwards is sponsored by Anderwood guitars and receives a signature Weissenborn model from the company.
Live work and recognition
Wille and the Bandits play festivals including Glastonbury, the Isle of Wight Festival, Green Man, Shambala and Greenbelt. They are chosen as one of the Daily Telegraph’s top three unsigned bands in the United Kingdom, and BBC Radio 1 lists them among the top ten must-see acts at Glastonbury 2014. The band also headlines shows in Germany, Switzerland, Holland, France, Belgium, Italy, Poland and Austria, and appears on the German television programme Rockpalast.
Line-up changes
Long-serving members Matthew Brooks and Andrew Naumann leave the band at the end of 2019 for personal reasons.
