Warren Haynes
Warren Haynes is a guitarist and musician from Asheville, United States, working in blues, rock and southern rock. He is a member of the Allman Brothers Band and is the primary singer, guitarist and songwriter for Gov’t Mule. He also plays with the Warren Haynes Band, and has been part of The Dead, Phil Lesh & Friends, The Brothers 50 and Paul Riddle & Friends.
Career
Haynes releases a solo album, Tales Of Ordinary Madness, in 1992. In 2004 he spends the summer playing with The Dead, a group formed of remaining members of the Grateful Dead. He also appears in Phil Lesh’s longest-running Phil Lesh & Friends line-up, alongside Lesh, Jimmy Herring, John Molo and Rob Baracco.
Recognition and related work
In 2004, Rolling Stone places him at number 23 on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All-Time. He is also known for the annual Warren Haynes Christmas Jam, a benefit event for Habitat for Humanity that brings together many guest musicians. He is associated with Evil Teen Records and Buzzard Rock Music.
