Von Hertzen Brothers

Von Hertzen Brothers is a Finnish progressive rock group from Finland, active since 2000. The core line-up consists of the three von Hertzen brothers: Kie von Hertzen, Mikko von Hertzen and Jonne von Hertzen. Mikko Kaakkuriniemi is also a member of the group.

Albums and chart success

The band releases on Spinefarm Records and works in crossover prog and progressive rock. Its debut album, Experience, appears in 2001 and is re-released in 2006. The second album, Approach, follows in 2006. Love Remains the Same arrives in 2008 and goes straight to number one on the official Finnish album chart. The same album includes contributions from Mikko Kaakkuriniemi on drums and percussion, as well as Juha Kuoppala on piano and keyboards. The band’s next releases include Stars Aligned in 2011 and Nine Lives in 2013.

Later line-up details

Nine Lives includes the single “Flowers and Rust,” which is issued with an official video. The band’s recorded personnel on Love Remains the Same expands beyond the three brothers to include Kaakkuriniemi and Kuoppala, showing the project in a broader album line-up at that stage.
