Vincent Vega is the stage name of Stefan Dörflein, a German trance and hard trance producer and DJ from Saarbrücken. He starts his career in the early 1990s as the frontman and producer of a German electro band, after playing three instruments by the age of eight, performing as a soloist at 13, and first encountering electronic music through Jean-Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk at 16.

Career

He makes his first release in 1991 on a Dutch underground label. In 1996, after being spotted by a club owner, he and the same club owner found a studio and launch the breakthrough act C.O.P. Project. Releases follow on labels including Technoclub, Frankfurt Beat Production, Superstar, Tetsuo and Electric Kingdom.

Vega also produces and DJs with classical training, and he builds a career around club-oriented trance and hard trance. He has more than 30 releases and more than 50 remixes, performs more than 100 gigs a year in several countries, and has a radio show scheduled on a major Russian station.

Projects and releases

His work includes the track “Timo di Roy - Don’t Stop,” which appears on Ministry of Sound annual compilations in Germany, Australia and South Africa, as well as on Clubbers Guide to Ibiza. He also performs live as part of MXTronica, with acts including Underworld and Tim Deluxe, and holds residencies at MXTronica and for Ministry of Sound Sessions in St Petersburg.

In 2008, he founds Skilled Records, an imprint that serves as an outlet for his own work and that of his friends. He also releases material on Envy My Music, Tempered Records, Amused and other labels. He is featured on several compilations in the Tunnel Trance Force series.
