Under A Banner

Under A Banner are a UK alternative rock band with a folk-tinged sound. They have been active for around three years and describe their music as powerful, passionate and poetic. The band builds around alternative, acoustic and lyrical elements, and is also associated with folk rock.

Line-up

The group features Adam Broadhurst on vocals and guitars, Jonathan “Jip” Price on guitars and backing vocals, Simon Hill on bass guitar, Tim Wilson on drums, percussion and backing vocals, and Kat Davis on keyboards.

Career and exposure

Under A Banner have supported New Model Army. Their music is used by the charity Safe World for Women and by the award-winning Californian author Rachel Thompson. They receive airplay on BBC Introducing West Midlands and Shropshire, BBC Nan Gael, and a range of other online and FM stations including Stafford FM and Wyldwood Radio. The band also appears in Indie Shaman magazine and on music blogs including Echoes and Dust, Here Comes the Flood, House in the Sand and Their Music Cottage.

Live work and following

The band continues to play gigs and festivals, and has built a large following in the UK. They also develop audiences in Western Europe and North America, while attracting attention elsewhere through a Twitter following of more than 30,000.
