Truckfighters

Truckfighters are a Swedish stoner rock band from Örebro, formed in 2001 and active since then. Their line-up includes Dango, Enzo, Ozo and Poncho. Their music is associated with desert rock, heavy metal, psychedelic rock and stoner rock, and their sound is often described as classic desert rock.

Career

The group releases several demos in 2001 and 2002 before recording a split EP with local band Firestone in 2003. Their debut album, Gravity X, appears in 2005 on MeteorCity Records and Fuzzorama Records. The follow-up, Phi, is released in 2007 on Poison Tree Records in the United States and on Fuzzorama elsewhere.

Later releases include Mania in 2009, Universe in 2014 and V in 2016. Their EPs include Desert Cruiser EP (2001), Truckfighters vs. Firestone (2003), Truckfighters do Square (2004), Hidden Treasures of Fuzz (2011) and The Chairman EP (2013).

Style and related work

Truckfighters’ sound is linked with bands such as Dozer, Fu Manchu and Kyuss, and they tour with Fu Manchu. They also appear on the MTV Sweden programme Fuzz. The film Truckfighters, directed by Joerg Steineck and Christian Maciejewski, presents the band’s life and includes interviews with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age.
