The Vintage Caravan is an Icelandic rock band from Álftanes. It forms in 2006 and remains active.

History

The band begins when school friends Óskar Logi Ágústsson and Guðjón Reynisson form it in 2006, with Ágústsson on guitar and vocals and Reynisson on drums. At that point they are 12 years old. Serious activity starts in 2009, and within two years the group self-releases its first eponymous studio album. Bassist Alexander Örn Númason joins after that first album.

In early 2012, the band signs to the Icelandic label Sena ahead of work on its second album. Voyage is released in 2012, first through Sena, and the band signs to Nuclear Blast shortly afterwards. Nuclear Blast then re-releases the album to a wider audience and issues the Expand Your Mind music video, a short film built around the psychedelic experiences of the trio. By July 2015, the video has become the band's most viewed online song, with 400,000 YouTube views.

Line-up changes

The band undergoes one line-up change after its formation. In 2015, Guðjón Reynisson leaves for personal reasons, and Stefán A. Stefánsson replaces him on drums. That same year, Arrival is released as the band's third studio album and its first after the change.
