The Skimmity Hitchers

The Skimmity Hitchers are a Dorset-based scrumpy and western and folk group active since 2010. They form from the ashes of Who's A'feard and develop a line-up built around Tatty Smart on vocals and kazoo, Jack Scrumpy on guitar, banjo, vocals and blue steel, and Drum Cheddar on percussion. Wurzel Thummidge joins on accordion as part of the group’s later line-up.

The band plays pubs, clubs, festivals and village fetes, and its performances are known for humour and audience participation. Its songs commonly focus on cider, badgers and second-home owners, with some lyrics aimed at families and others less so.
