1 Highland band The Side consists of Hugh Winton (Winnie) on Vocals and Guitar, John Ross on drums (Muff), James Richards on Bass and Backing Vocals and George Campbell on Keys and Backing Vocals. The band originally met when they were students at North Highland College and went on to establish themselves as one of the top bands in the area with their indie mixture of rock, pop and funk. --------------------------------------------------- 2 In 2013 Kathryn tickell formed a quartet called the side with Amy Thatcher, Newcastle based accordionist and clog dancer, also of The Shee and the Monster Ceilidh Band. Classically trained Scottish harpist Ruth Wall, who performs as a soloist and in some of the most exciting ensembles and bands (Goldfrapp, Fitkin) as well as working extensively with composers, orchestras, electronic and visual artists.
