The Menzingers

The Menzingers are a punk rock band from Scranton, United States, active since 2006. The group forms after the dissolution of Bob And The Sagets, a band from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area of Pennsylvania, and its lineup includes Greg Barnett, Joe Godino, Eric Keen and Tom May.

Early releases and label history

With Greg Barnett added to the group, The Menzingers record a demo and self-released album titled A Lesson In The Abuse Of Information Technology in 2006. They then sign to Go-Kart Records, re-record the material from that release and issue it again with additional tracks. After appearing at Fest VII in Gainesville, Florida, they are approached by Brendan Kelly of The Lawrence Arms and later sign to Red Scare Industries.

The band releases the EP Hold On, Dodge in 2009 as its Red Scare debut, followed by Chamberlain Waits in April 2010. In 2011 they announce a move to Epitaph Records, and On The Impossible Past, their third full-length album, appears in 2012 through that label.

Style and activity

The Menzingers are associated with punk, punk rock, pop punk, melodic punk and orgcore, and their listed genres also include heartland rock and indie rock. They tour in support of Against Me! in March and April 2010. The group is based in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
