The K is a Southampton, UK artist born in 1972, also known as DJ GK. He is trained in keyboard, guitar and drums, and he works as a studio engineer and mixer on his own material and for Deja Vue.
Career
The K is associated with 15 releases, has credits on other artists’ music, and produces remixes, mega-mixes and mini-mixes. He works under the name DJ GK and has been involved in several long-running projects and businesses connected to music production and publishing.
Groups and projects
From 1988 to 1995, he performs as DJ GK & The Mix Kid, also called The Parana Brothers. He is then part of Sounds From The South in 1998. From 2006 onwards, he is involved with Deja Vue, an electro/club/dance act, where he works as one half of the duo. He also runs Long Hall Productions Limited from 2007 onwards, including LHP Studios, LHP Records, LHP Productions and LHP Publishing, with the LHP name appearing across those linked ventures from 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Solo work
In 2009, The K releases a solo EP titled Do Not Alight This Side. His recorded work includes both solo output and production work for his collaborations.
