The Honey Ants

The Honey Ants are a UK duo made up of John Grimsey and Rebecca Hamer. Formed in Shepherd’s Bush in 2013, the group is active across folk, pop, rock and singer-songwriter music.

They build their songs around close, bittersweet harmonies, with a sound that starts in folk and develops into a darker, more layered style. Their music brings together elements of Southern gospel and country with a London edge.

The pair establish a reputation on the London live circuit through their performances. In 2014 they appear at the Isle of Wight Festival and spend time writing in the Icelandic countryside, which marks a period of development in their songwriting. Their later material follows from that period of work.
