The Breeders

The Breeders are an alternative rock group from Boston, United States, formed in 1989 by Kim Deal and Tanya Donelly. They begin as a side project while Deal is also in Pixies and Donelly is in Throwing Muses, but the group soon becomes Deal’s main recording outlet. The band remains active from 1989 to the present.

Line-up and membership

The original line-up includes Josephine Wiggs on bass and Britt Walford on drums, alongside Deal and Donnelly. Kim Deal is the only continuous member of the group. Her twin sister Kelley Deal joins in 1992 and stays with the band. Other members include Carrie Bradley, Jonny Mattock, Jim MacPherson, Richard Presley, Mando Lopez, José Medeles and Nate Farley. The group also includes Tanya Donelly and Britt Walford among its members.
