The Black Atlantic

The Black Atlantic is a Dutch acoustic pop band from Groningen, active since 2006. The group centres on singer and songwriter Geert van der Velde and includes Matthijs Herder and Kim Janssen.

The band releases material under its own name and works in an acoustic, indie and folk-leaning style. Its debut album, Reverence for Fallen Trees, appears in 2009. It follows this with the EP Darkling, I Listen in 2012 and the Enshrine EP in 2013, which features three solo acoustic performances.
